
Dave Stenson
Managing Director, Zeus Electric Chassis
With over 40-years’ experience in the auto industry, Dave Stenson was appointed managing director of Zeus Electric Chassis in May of this year. He is also the Founder and CEO of Inventev LLC comprised of an electric vehicle technology unit focused on commercial fleet trucks and an advisory practice, Inventev Experts.
A native of the Detroit area, Dave had numerous technical and business accomplishments over a 29-year career with General Motors concentrated in Product Development, Engineering and Program Management. Among his roles were Vehicle Line Director for the Pontiac Solstice program; Vehicle Line Executive, Trucks, for GM of Mexico; and Chief Engineer, GM of Mexico. He was later responsible globally for business operations of GM’s Computer Aided Design systems, production Bills of Material and Engineering Change Management. Dave became Executive Director of GM Performance Division in late 2008 and Chief Technical Officer of GM’s HUMMER Division in April 2009 with the intent to spin off the brand.
For multiple years Dave has followed the electrification trends of commercial work trucks and continues to advocate for multiple solutions based on specific truck duty cycles.
Dave was principal investigator for the U.S. Department of Energy ARPA-E grant awarded to Inventev in 2016 and has been tapped to assist the U.S. Department of Energy as a technology project merit reviewer for multiple years. Dave also now serves as an Industry Advisory Board member for NanoGraf Corporation and a Founding Board Member for EV Thermal Flow Solutions LLC. Most recently the Federal Transit Administration chose the Inventev-assembled team to execute the Bus Exportable Power System (BEPS) standards development with a $1 million grant award.
Dave received his Mechanical Engineering degree with an electrical minor from Kettering University (formerly General Motors Institute) and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
